Boiler Finance FAQs
Straight answers to the questions Scottish homeowners ask us about boiler finance, surveys, installation and heat pumps. Loans available, subject to status. We arrange no-obligation surveys and quotes for paid installations; installation is by our MCS-certified partner.
About finance and paying for your boiler
Finance lets you spread the cost of a boiler or heat pump installation over an agreed period rather than paying everything upfront. We arrange surveys and quotes for paid installations, and where finance is of interest we explain the options as part of your quote. Loans are available, subject to status, which means eligibility depends on a credit and affordability check. We do not publish rates or amounts on this website, because the right option depends on your circumstances and the installation being quoted. A representative example is provided with any quote so the figures are clear before you commit. You are never obliged to use finance — paying upfront is equally fine, and the quote is the same either way.
About the survey and quote
The survey is no-obligation and carries no charge. A surveyor visits your home to assess your current boiler, flue, pipework, water pressure, radiators and — for heat pump enquiries — insulation and outdoor space. From that visit you receive a written quote for a paid installation, setting out the appliance, labour, any pipework or flue changes, controls and removal of your old unit. For heat pump and hybrid installations, the radiator, cylinder and electrical work is itemised too. You take the quote away and decide in your own time; there is no hard sell and no expectation that you commit on the day. If anything changes or you want to revisit the options, we are happy to talk it through.
About boiler types and heat pumps
Combi boilers provide heating and hot water from one unit with no cylinder or tanks, suiting most flats and small-to-medium homes. System boilers use a cylinder for stored hot water and suit larger households that run several taps or showers at once. Regular boilers work with a feed and expansion tank and a hot water cylinder, often the straightforward replacement in older properties that already have that layout. Air source heat pumps use electricity to move heat from outside air into your home and can suit well-insulated properties with adequate radiators. Hybrid systems pair a heat pump with a boiler so each handles the conditions it suits best. The surveyor will recommend the option that genuinely fits your home, rather than pushing a particular type.
About installation and who does the work
We arrange the survey and quote; the installation itself is carried out by our MCS-certified partner, so accredited engineers do the fitting to a recognised standard. We install through MCS-certified partners — this matters for quality and for any future paperwork. A straightforward combi swap is usually completed in a day; a heat pump or hybrid installation takes longer because of the outdoor unit, cylinder and radiator work. The engineers will talk you through the new system and controls, and make sure everything runs properly before they leave. Your old boiler is taken away and recycled.
Frequently asked questions
Is the survey really no-obligation?
Yes. The survey carries no charge and no obligation. You receive a written quote and can take as long as you like to decide whether to proceed.
Are loans really available?
Loans are available, subject to status, which means eligibility depends on a credit and affordability check. A representative example is provided with any quote so the figures are clear before you commit.
Do you offer 0% finance?
We do not publish rates on this website. Finance options are explained in your quote, and a representative example is provided. Loans are available, subject to status.
Can I spread the cost of a heat pump?
Yes. Finance can be discussed for air source heat pump and hybrid installations as well as combi, system and regular boilers. Loans are available, subject to status.
How long does installation take?
A like-for-like combi swap is usually done in a day. Heat pump and hybrid installations take longer because of the outdoor unit, cylinder and radiator work involved.
Who carries out the installation?
Installation is carried out by our MCS-certified partner. We arrange the survey and quote for the paid installation.
Which areas of Scotland do you cover?
We arrange surveys and quotes across Scotland, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Fife, Aberdeen, the Highlands and the Borders. See our Areas Covered page for the full list.
Do I have to decide on the day of the survey?
No. There is no pressure to decide on the day. The written quote is yours to take away, read and compare in your own time before choosing whether to go ahead.
Will you price-match a quote I already have?
We provide a written quote based on a genuine survey of your home. If you have another quote, we are happy to talk through how they compare, but we will not compromise on the survey or the quality of the installation.
How do I book a survey?
Use the form on our Get a Quote page or call 0141 230 0198. We will take a few basic details and arrange a visit at a time that suits you.
